Plastic Surgery TV: Addicted to Beauty

A new television show, Addicted to Beauty, will be aired on Tuesday, August 4th, to help break up the summer television rerun doldrums.
You may have read about the reality show, Addicted to Beauty, here first in December. 2008.
In fact, one of the cast member patients, CeCe Mack, replied to our blog post to tell about refreshing herself in front of the cameras at the San Diego medi-spa which is owned and operated by a real plastic surgery practice.
We can’t help but observe the show comes at 10 or 11 p.m., depending on where you live and will probably be fairly adult fare.
The other oh-so-young-and-beautiful cast/office staff members include:
- A well-known San Diego plastic surgeon
- Melanie, aka “Mel”, the surgeon’s office manager who is fond of tough love
- Diane, a socialite and marketing expert
- Gary, a flamboyant, outspoken receptionist
- Ronnie, an eccentric concierge
- Natasha, a level-headed marketing assistant
- Shannyn, the no-nonsense spa manager
And while the show is being advertised as a one-hour show examining the young, attractive – and the broke — who come in for spray tans and hits of Botox, along with the very wealthy who are looking for tummy tucks, breast augmentation and liposuction, we must admit it sounds like a combination of The Office and Dr. 90210.
Anyhow, the show begins as Diane brings her marketing staff from a previous Medi-spa gig to launch a new venture next to the established plastic surgeon.
From what we can gather, the two staffs – the surgeon’s and the Medi-spas’– aren’t exactly meshing their gears. Personalities clash, they get in each other’s way, resentment rears its ugly head and sows a little chaos into the new venture.
For instance, Natasha’s nose gets out of joint because she must step in to help Gary’s position and probably stifle his outspoken nature a bit.
Ronnie doesn’t want to be supervised by Shannyn while “Mel” thinks Dianne’s staff is incompetent.
