Plastic Surgery for Barbie Doll – What’s She’s Had, What She Wants

Plastic Surgery Comments (0)

Hard to believe, but Barbie is going to be 50 on March 9th.

And sure, the idea is silly – plastic surgery for a plastic doll.

(Remember, there’s no actual plastic in plastic surgery. The meaning is from the Greek plasticos which means “to change” or “to mold”.)

Barbie can be considered a great role model for girls because she:

  • Never smoked
  • Focuses on her health
  • Keeps her weight to a minimum
  • Stays in incredible shape

Plus, Barbie has worked as an aerobics instructor and lifeguard, been a ballet dancer and gymnast, among other athletic pursuits.

Yet others observe that, given the size of Barbie’s breasts in relation to her tiny waist, she would not be able to stand up if she were real. Well, maybe.

But with such a lean frame, it does look like Barbie has had a breast augmentation. (On a real woman, it would equal a 39-inch bust and 21-inch waist.)

And that got us to wondering: if Barbie were a real 50-year-old woman, what cosmetic surgery procedures must she have had to look like that?

Says Tarick K. Smaili, M.D. a board-certified Beverly Hills plastic surgeon and the medical director of California Surgical Institute,

“At 50, a woman has many options, including Botox and facial fillers. If she ever did have children, a mommy makeover is available as are mini-face lifts that leave minimal scars.”

Because Barbie appears to be of Northern European ancestry and has thin skin, she probably has had a chemical or laser peel to remove wrinkles. Her eyes look bright and open so perhaps she has an upper eyelid lift.

And there are no deep wrinkles on her forehead or between her eyes so that suggests regular Botox injections or maybe a forehead lift.

The neck area can be the first feature to show sagging flesh. So if Barbie has not already had a face lift, she should start reading about what’s involved in face and neck lifts.

Barbie has over 500 special interest groups like Doctor Barbie or NASCAR Barbie.

The most noteworthy: Divorce Barbie who owns Ken’s house; Ken’s boat; Ken’s car and, well, hey, you get the idea!
