But then i gained another 30 pounds. that makes me 100 pounds heavier. the probleme is diet isn’t helping. is liposuction good for me, and how much will it cost me to get my body back to what it used to be, i am fat everywhere even in my face, and hands. I am 5′2 and 258 lbs. I was 154 lbs. before i had my first son

Liposuction is not a solution to weight loss and not an alternative to dieting and exercise. However liposuction is often carried out by our patients who are not able to lose the fatty deposits that build up over the years and depending on your body and metabolism, sometimes no amount of exercise will solve this. It merely offers women the chance to feel better and more confident with their body and its shape.

Liposuction? Lap Band? First, Learn about Fat!

Lap Band Surgery, Liposuction, Plastic Surgery Comments (3)

Liposuction is a plastic surgery mainstay with about 302,000 people undergoing the procedure in 2007. The number of people opting for the Lap Band procedure to lose massive amounts of weight is also increasing rapidly.

Liposuction is done on the arms, the face, the neck, the stomach, the flanks (the “love handles”) the breasts, buttocks and lower body including the “cankle surgery” in a few cases.

Is the world at war with fat?  Actually, we need some fat in our diet and on our bodies for health.
Nonetheless, there are some little-known facts about fat, its removal and your health:

Liposuction is the only way to reduce your fat cells. Diet and exercise only shrink them.

  • Are you healthier afterwards?

You should reduce the fat around your internal organs, but liposuction doesn’t do that. Otherwise, fat-related health risks remain unchanged.

  • What did I do to get fat?

Blame it on the genes you inherited.

  • What’s the fattest part of the body?

The brain is about 70 percent fat. Everybody really is a fat head!

  • How many Americans are overweight?

Sixty-six percent of Americans are overweight or obese. As of 2007, California was the only state not getting fatter. (But don’t move here thinking you’ll automatically get thinner. The state is too crowded already!)

  • What did I do to get fat?

If you regularly eat dinner or breakfast in restaurants, the risk of obesity is doubled.

  • What location on the body is fat the most unhealthy?

Belly fat is associated with type II diabetes and heart disease.

  • Why should I lose weight?

A cosmetic plastic surgery firm in England, Surgicare, surveyed their past lap band patients and found:

  • Seventy-one percent reporting an increase in their intimate relations
  • Ninety percent said they could move and get around better
  • 86 percent said they had massively improved self-esteem.

(Read more about the lap band patient survey.)

What kind of fat would you like to lose? Belly, arm, leg or cankle?
